Show off your creativity in the MWR Pumpkin Decorating Contest 2026. Individuals and groups are invited to transform a pumpkin into an original creation for a chance to earn 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place.

Key Dates

• Pumpkin pickup: October 1 at the Station Library
• Limit of two pumpkins per group or person.
• Pumpkin due date: October 14, 2026, at the Station Library, Monday through Friday, 0900-1700.
• Judging: October 22 at 1100.

Judging Criteria

Entries will be judged on:

• Originality
• Ingenious use of inexpensive materials
• Quality of the work
• Suitability of the title
• Quality of the work in light of the participant’s department or person

Contest Rules

1. The main part of each entry must be a pumpkin.
2. Pumpkins must not be carved or hollowed out.
3. Participants must pick up pumpkins at the MWR Library on October 1. Two pumpkins are available per group or person.
4. Objects, paper, and other materials may be pinned or glued to pumpkins. Participants may also draw, paint, or dress up their entries. Do not carve or hollow out the pumpkin.
5. Electrical devices may be used as part of an entry.
6. Each entry must have a title. A theme may also be used.
7. MWR reserves the right to dispose of any pumpkin that begins to decay during the contest period.
8. Children’s entries should have minimal parental assistance.
9. Pre-purchased, pre-decorated pumpkins are not eligible.
10. ?Only one entry per group or person is permitted.
11. No materials will be provided other than the pumpkins.
